The graceful 789-foot one-lane
bridge that connects Treasure Island to the mainland is often depicted
in drawings and paintings by local artists. For current and historical
views of the bridge, see the photo album.
The
bridge weight limits are posted on
a sign at the mainland entrance to the bridge. If you hire a
contractor for building, excavating, septic, or similar work, make
sure the contractor understands and observes the weight limits.
The bridge is approximately 50
years old. While the bridge is sturdy and in good condition, loads that exceed the
weight limit will stress the wooden pilings and concrete decking. The
bridge is TICC's most expensive asset and arguably the most important.
