Purpose:

To identify and implement the requirements set forth by the Department of Natural Resources through the Aquatic Lands Lease as they pertain to the TICC pier, gangway and dock attached to lot 58 and the south 30 feet of lot 57 or commonly known as the Community Dock Property.

Policy:

Best Management Practices (BMPs) are low technology practices to protect the environment, and are approved by the Washington State Department of Ecology.

All members are responsible for informing their family members and guests of the best management practices and are responsible for their conduct.

Members shall comply with the BMPs that are listed in this policy or the privilege to use the dock may be revoked.

The two categories of BMPs required by DNR are:

·       Source control measures that help prevent pollutants from coming into contact with surface water; and

·       Treatment measures that reduce either the toxicity or volume of the waste generated.

BMPs listed below under the Permitted Use Section shall be made available to all members.

Requirement:

Treasure Island Country Club leases bed lands from the State of Washington Department of Natural Resources upon which the pier, gangway and dock are situated.

Permitted Use (from lease agreement):

The use of the site is for recreational vessel moorage for the members of Treasure Island Country Club. Tenant (TICC) shall not cause or permit any damage to natural resources on the property. The Tenant agrees to implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) to ensure that permitted use does not adversely impact natural resources on the property.

TICC has agreed, through the Aquatic Lands Lease, to implement BMPs for:

·       Bilge Water Discharge/Management

·       Hazardous Waste

·       Waste Oil and Oil Spills

·       Solid Waste

·       Sewage Management

·       Spill Prevention and Response

·       Exotic Species

·       Boat Maintenance at the facility

·       Public Safety

In accordance with the Aquatic Lands Lease, additional BMPs may be required as technology changes, if existing BMPs are not being followed, and/or existing BMPs are found to be ineffective.

In the instance of any event described in the previous paragraph, this policy will be updated.
