Switching Over to the Detour

On Friday, December 16th, the bridge was closed from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon to switch the traffic over to the detour. The detour will remain until the south half (new driving lane) of the new bridge is complete, which is scheduled for February 2012. The Grapeview Fire Department #3 performed a drive-through to make sure Emergency vehicles could make it through the detour. See a short time-lapse of the fire truck navigating the detour here.
